Before I left for Honduras LT last June, I undertook my first website redesign project in partnership with Stevi Ferguson.
Midway through that project, I got bored. I was redesigning a website for a cause I didn’t really care for. And the more I worked with the guy I was doing the website for, the more I realized I didn’t want to work for people like him much if the future if I could avoid it.
But I had no idea that project would be the launch-pad for my next big project, one I had a lot more invested interest.
When GCLA’s Social Projects Director Carlos Gomez discretely emailed me about a possible job, I was a little confused. I still had a year left in school, so I figured this was a misunderstanding of sorts.
The email seemed innocent enough. But after the conference call I realized it was no misunderstanding. GCLA was in desperate need of a website that could provide improved communication to its partners in a more user-friendly format.
So over the last three months, Stevi and I have worked diligently to create a website that we as both GCLA partners (whom GCLA was trying to appease in the first place) and GCLA workers would be pleased with at the end of the day.
With much trial and error, conversations about what we like and don’t like, and trying to get a better idea of what exactly Carlos Gomez had envision, we finally came to a point where we were satisfied with the results.
The website “launched” on December 28th, with several revisions and additions set to come to the website over the course of the next few months as GCLA refines its own procedures for its Child Sponsorship Program and creates more up-to-date information packets for prospective missions partners.
The process has been fun, getting to put together church pages for the 30+ churches in the GCLA movement. I’ve felt more encouraged and inspired in my work, never once getting bored in doing this Gospel Work.
Throughout the past few months, my perception of GCLA has grown from just a few churches that have cool social projects, to an enormous Gospel Movement that’s taking Latin America by storm, one influential city at a time.
And the best part? Throughout each and every story I wrote about the churches in the GCLA Movement, all were a total testament to God’s power and leading, as the growth of each church and the development of leaders was undoubtedly powered by the Spirit.
As both a partner and a part-time GCLA employee, I’m excited to say that I believe more than ever in GCLA’s movement and what God has in store for the future.
You can see more of the GCLA Website here. Feel free to comment here with suggestions, compliments, critiques or just any other words you might have to share.

When you type in our new domain, "www.greatcommissionla.com" this is what you'll find. It's our landing page, with our blog area on the left, our twitter feed in the middle, and our featured church page on the right all "above the fold" and prominent on the page.

Looks great!
Keep up the good work.
Web sites usually always need fine tuning, so keep “testing” it and looking for feedback from visitors.
Best wishes in this new endeavor!

The website looks great. I believe it will make it more accessible to those who wish to sponsor a child (like myself) or give in any other way.
God bless you!
